The Importance of Clear and Concise Communication

Clear communication is essential for setting expectations, aligning teams, and ensuring everyone is working towards the same goals. Ambiguity or lack of clarity can lead to misunderstandings, decreased productivity, and missed opportunities.

To communicate effectively, leaders should:

  • Choose the right channel: Consider whether your message is best communicated through email, a meeting, or a one-on-one conversation.
  • Be specific and avoid jargon: Use simple, direct language that everyone can understand.
  • Focus on the key message: Don't overload your audience with too much information at once.

Active Listening and Constructive Feedback

When leaders actively listen, they demonstrate respect for their team members and create a safe space for dialogue. Constructive feedback helps team members grow and develop their skills.

To practice active listening and provide constructive feedback, leaders should:

  • Be fully present: When team members share their thoughts, put aside distractions and give them your undivided attention. This shows respect and encourages them to express themselves openly.
  • Validate their voice: Acknowledge their contributions, even if you don't necessarily agree with everything. Let them know that their perspective is heard and appreciated, fostering a sense of psychological safety within the team.
  • Seek deeper understanding: Ask thoughtful questions to clarify their ideas and ensure that you've grasped the nuances of their message. This demonstrates your commitment to clear communication and prevents misunderstandings.
  • Offer a roadmap for growth: Don't just point out areas for improvement; provide actionable feedback that outlines specific steps they can take to enhance their performance. This empowers them to make meaningful changes.
  • Focus on actions, not character: Separate the behavior from the person. Instead of criticizing their personality, address the specific actions or decisions that need adjustment. This helps them learn without feeling personally attacked.
  • Don't delay, communicate: The sooner you provide feedback, the more relevant and impactful it will be. Timely feedback allows them to apply your suggestions while the experience is still fresh in their minds.

By incorporating these practices into your leadership style, you'll not only foster a more collaborative and supportive work environment but also empower your team members to reach their full potential.

Remember, effective communication is a two-way street, and by demonstrating your commitment to active listening and constructive feedback, you'll inspire the same level of engagement and growth from your team.

Nonverbal Communication and Empathy

Empathy, the ability to understand and share the feelings of others, is also crucial for effective communication.

To foster a truly connected and motivated team, leaders should embrace the power of nonverbal communication and empathy. Here's how to elevate your leadership presence:

  • Body Language Speaks Volumes: Your posture, gestures, and facial expressions communicate as much as your words. Adopt an open and approachable posture – uncross your arms, lean slightly forward, and offer a genuine smile. This signals that you're engaged and receptive.
  • The Eyes Have It: Make eye contact to show genuine interest in what others are saying. It conveys respect, builds trust, and encourages open communication.
  • Tone It Right: Your tone of voice can set the mood for an entire conversation. Speak calmly, respectfully, and avoid a condescending or dismissive tone. Even when delivering constructive feedback, a supportive tone makes all the difference.
  • Walk in Their Shoes: Empathy is the cornerstone of understanding. Put yourself in your team members' shoes. What challenges are they facing? What motivates them? When you understand their perspective, you can tailor your communication and support in a meaningful way.
  • Compassion Connects: Demonstrate genuine care and understanding. Offer encouragement, celebrate successes, and be a source of support during challenges. A compassionate leader fosters a sense of psychological safety where team members feel valued and empowered to take risks.

Let's take it a step further:

When employees see their leaders practicing empathy and open communication, they are more likely to adopt these behaviors themselves, creating a ripple effect of positive interactions throughout the organization.

Decision-Making Skills for Leaders

This skill involves a systematic approach that includes gathering relevant information from various sources, critically analyzing the data to identify patterns and trends, and carefully considering the potential consequences of each option.

Effective decision-making is a cornerstone of successful leadership, enabling organizations to navigate challenges and seize opportunities.

Gathering and Analyzing Information

Leaders must actively seek out diverse perspectives and data points to gain a comprehensive understanding of the situation at hand. This process may involve consulting with experts, conducting surveys or focus groups, and analyzing historical data.

  • Identify reliable sources: Ensure the information you gather comes from reputable and unbiased sources.
  • Collect a variety of data: Include both quantitative and qualitative data to gain a holistic view.
  • Analyze trends and patterns: Look for recurring themes or correlations in the data that may reveal insights.

  • Conduct a risk assessment: Identify potential risks associated with each decision and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Create a decision matrix: Evaluate each option based on a set of criteria to facilitate comparison.
  • Seek input from stakeholders: Engage relevant stakeholders in the decision-making process to ensure their concerns are heard and addressed.

By following a structured approach to decision-making, leaders can increase the likelihood of making sound choices that benefit their organizations and stakeholders.

Mentorship and Coaching For Developing Future Leaders

Mentorship and coaching play a crucial role in nurturing the growth and development of individuals, empowering them to reach their full potential and become effective leaders. These processes involve guiding, supporting, and inspiring individuals to enhance their skills, knowledge, and confidence.

The Importance of Mentoring and Coaching

They are about establishing meaningful relationships where mentors and coaches act as trusted advisors, role models, and advocates for their mentees. Through these relationships, mentees gain valuable insights, perspectives, and feedback that enable them to navigate challenges, make informed decisions, and achieve their goals.

Mentoring focuses on the long-term development of individuals, offering guidance, support, and advice based on the mentor's experience and expertise. Mentors share their knowledge, insights, and lessons learned, helping mentees develop their skills, broaden their perspectives, and navigate their career paths.

Coaching is a more structured and goal-oriented process, designed to help individuals enhance specific skills or achieve specific objectives. Coaches work with individuals to identify their strengths and weaknesses, set goals, develop action plans, and overcome obstacles.

Tips for Effective Mentorship and Coaching

  • Establish clear objectives and expectations. Clearly define the goals of the mentoring or coaching relationship. This ensures that both the mentor/coach and the mentee are on the same page and working towards a common purpose.
  • Create a safe and supportive environment. Foster an environment where mentees feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, ideas, and concerns without fear of judgment or criticism.
  • Provide regular feedback and guidance. Offer constructive feedback that focuses on specific behaviors and outcomes. Provide guidance and support to help mentees address their weaknesses and build on their strengths.
  • Encourage mentees to take on challenging projects. Help mentees step outside their comfort zones and take on new challenges. This allows them to develop new skills, gain confidence, and expand their horizons.
  • Celebrate successes and milestones. Acknowledge and celebrate the mentee's achievements, both big and small. This helps to build confidence and motivation.

Benefits of Mentorship and Coaching for Mentees

  • Enhanced skills and knowledge. Mentees gain valuable skills and knowledge from their mentors and coaches, which they can apply to their personal and professional lives.
  • Increased self-awareness. Through feedback and guidance, mentees develop a deeper understanding of their strengths, weaknesses, values, and goals.
  • Improved performance and productivity. With the support of their mentors and coaches, mentees are able to improve their performance and productivity at work.
  • Expanded network and opportunities. Mentors and coaches often introduce their mentees to new people and opportunities, which can help them advance their careers.

This level of customization is unattainable on your own, underscoring the necessity of expert intervention.

2. Objective Insight into Your True Potential

As leaders, it's challenging to maintain the necessary distance to view your situation objectively. This is where I come in, offering clarity and an unbiased perspective. My ability to cut through the internal noise and provide clear insights into your genuine driving forces is pivotal.

Every organization, much like Adam’s, faces invisible challenges that curb growth. These hidden bottlenecks—be it in workflow, team alignment, or leadership style—often go unnoticed, yet they significantly hinder progress.

Adam’s company, stuck at a $4 million plateau, showcases how these unseen forces can freeze an organization's growth despite fervent efforts and investments.

Identifying these bottlenecks is crucial, as their resolution can pave the way for breakthrough growth.

The journey to overcoming these growth barriers begins with a thorough diagnosis. In our coaching sessions, we dive deep into the company's operations using a blend of analytical tools and discussions.

For Adam, this meant dissecting team dynamics, technology use, and strategy alignment to pinpoint exactly where the bottlenecks lay.

A key revelation was the misalignment of team objectives with the company’s broader goals, coupled with outdated technologies that no longer supported their growth trajectory. By diagnosing these issues, we not only identified the obstacles but also charted a clear course for overcoming them

Why Should You Work with a Leadership Expert

The journey to identify and understand the core issues your organization faces is a crucial step that often requires more than what meets the eye. My role as your leadership coach is to peel back the layers, revealing the underlying challenges that are not immediately visible from within.

Here's why expert guidance is indispensable in pinpointing the root causes of your stagnation:

2. Objective Analysis to Uncover Real Challenges

Internal assessments can often be clouded by biases or a lack of perspective. As an external expert, I bring an objective viewpoint that is critical for a true diagnosis of the issues at hand.

My role is to offer a fresh perspective, one that cuts through the internal narrative to identify the genuine challenges your organization faces. This objective analysis is pivotal in ensuring that we're not just addressing symptoms but are getting to the heart of the matter.

3. Strategic Deep-Dive into Organizational Dynamics

This comprehensive approach ensures that no stone is left unturned in our quest to uncover the real issues that impede your growth.

4. Expertise in Pattern Recognition

Over the years, I've honed my ability to recognize patterns that typically signal deeper problems within organizations.

This expertise allows me to quickly identify potential issues based on known indicators, speeding up the diagnostic process. By applying this knowledge, I can guide you more efficiently through the initial and often most challenging part of the journey: recognizing what truly holds your organization back.

3. Strategically Clear Your Path to Success

The last leg of Adam's transformative journey involved strategically clearing the path to an astounding 600% growth.

The difference between business experts from newbies is their ability to position themselves as an interesting company with a unique brand. Basically, it is to be identified as a great discovery in the market.

Therefore, a good sales pitch may turn into a good destination.

Focusing on the decision to come forth based on the ability or potential to provide amazing services unlike anybody else awaits great opportunities.

Power positioning is vital in the industry, especially in the marketing niche. There's a lot of competition out there. Companies that strive for leads will do anything to bring sales. They are up for challenges and been developing strategies for years to stay on top.

So, whether you're selling a product or a service, you need to be an expert in presenting yourself as a valuable asset to the company for you to keep your clients coming.

If you're having a tough time getting through to your prospects and closing the deal, I am here to help you. I'm going to show you exactly how to set yourself up to win.

I'm going to give you my three best tips to set yourself up to win this year in your business, in your life, in your relationships, and in your finances.

How to position yourself in Noah's Arc?

Let's talk about setting yourself up to win and why it is important.

Well, it's just like building a house. If you're going to build a house, what do you need?

You need a strong foundation.

What a lot of entrepreneurs are doing right now today is they're running around slapping boards together hoping a house shows up, working really hard but not getting the results they want.

We don't want to do that because we all know the definition of insanity.

Insanity is doing the same things over and over again while expecting a different result. That’s never going to work.

Today, let me give you my top three tips on how to set yourself up to win big in the next 12 months.

This is what I call my Noah's ARC Method.

This is something we go over in great depth in my Power Habits 21-day Challenge.

Tip #1: A for Awareness

The “A” in Noah's Arc stands for awareness. It is the most important step of transformation.

Awareness is the ability to identify oneself, your strengths and expertise. It is simply your values and what you can offer to your client. You have to know your unique selling proposition. You have to know what makes you stand out among the rest.

How to position yourself - Awareness

But, Information alone is not enough to create transformation.

You can go to YouTube and watch any video. There's wide coverage of information about the human species available for free on YouTube.

All you have to do is type in:

  • How to make a million dollars?
  •  How to lose weight?
  •  How to get six-pack abs?
  • How to have a happy relationship?
  •  How to find the man or woman of your dreams?

You can find all the answers to that on YouTube. But then, why isn't everyone rich, happy, and thin?

Why isn't everyone walking around with six-pack abs? Why doesn't everyone have a happy relationship? Why isn't everyone a millionaire?

It's because information alone does not create change.

What do you need to change? What do you need for you to have a transformation?

We don't want more information, what we want is transformation.

And friends, the most important step of transformation is awareness.

If you're not aware then you can't make changes.

It's exactly like you walk into a room that's totally dark and then someone comes in and says, “All right now, I want you to rearrange the furniture here in this room.”

And you're like, “Well I can't even see what I'm doing,” which they will respond to “Think positive, set your goals, and get motivated. Come on, you can do it if you can. If you can believe it, you can achieve it.”

Assume that you start walking around, bang your shins out and you hit your toe.

It's going to be very frustrating because you can’t see everything.

What I’ll do is come in and turn the light on then go.

My clients thank me all the time because of this. Not me talking but my clients being grateful because I showed them the light.

That's one of the reasons why we've helped people just like you to add multiple six, seven, and yes, even eight figures to their business. We review their framework, help them explore the possibilities, and offer powerful solutions.

Allow yourself to be viewed by your audience as one who's confident enough to show your list of accolades, or simply flex one's worth.

Tip #2: R for Routines

Routines are what you do every day that counts which means your role in doing your tasks starting today should be relevant to where you want to be.

You have to undergo the process, do startups, establish your skill set, and apply what you've learned every single day.

How to position yourself - Routines

This only shows your respect and patience in achieving your goal.

You can have the best intentions in the world. You can believe it all day long. You can visualize all day long. You can even use affirmations or Afformations® all day long.

But if you don't have the right routines, then you're not going to get the results that you want.

What are you doing every day to move towards your goal? How do you secure your pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?

You have to do your job to present yourself as the best choice of all the options. Simple tasks that are intended to improve yourself will contribute to your future endeavors.

Imagine what routines you can do starting now.

You may work on your skills, read books and documents, attend a webinar, practice your interviews, create more projects, write an article or some stories, connect and do networking, improve your portfolio and earn credentials.

One of the things that I teach is called Power Habits®. It refers to activities and techniques which will keep you on track and focused on your growth.

You can actually get my free training on how to use my Power Habit system by visiting powerhabitsacademy.com.

You can find the Power Habits® of unconsciously successful people. That's where I am going to teach and give you the routines that will change your life.

Tip #3: C for Conversions

Conversions are a marketing objective, the desired goal.

You've got to have the right offers, the right funnels, and the right traffic so you can turn a prospect into a potential buyer. These are the factors that affect your presence on the internet.

When you have the right conversions:

  • People are finding you.
  • People are learning about you.
  • People are buying from you.

They find you. They like and trust you and eventually, they’ll buy from you.

Competitors are here and there and if you show up first in the search tab first, you can now expect customers and followers.

Yet, it's not about who came first because the client still wants to hear your story. They want to know what you can put on the table.

This is where you have to show up and communicate, present an undeniable package and prepare to answer difficult questions.

Communicating rather than just speaking to them helps them understand your intention and offer. Listening and figuring out what they actually need will also help you guide them to where they want to be.

How to position yourself - Conversions

What we like is for them to buy from you over and over and over again. Yet, objections should be taken as an opportunity to work on things you'll be needing to specialize in the coming days. A strategy may or may not be effective because a client differs from another.

I have programs and courses online established to meet your goals and customer's goals, too. These are programs that I built three, five, seven, and even ten years ago which are still making me money today, every single day like clockwork.

It is what we call having the seven-figure machine. Having a seven-figure machine means you are getting to either six or seven figures in your online business, getting to the 30k per month level as I teach in my 30k income secrets course.

Switching Positions: Knowing Your Client’s Value

The marketing world is really a tough job and getting closer to your dream means you have to mind your own attitude, act professional, follow the lead, focus on the goal, share what you can offer, but stand out in public.

As Dr. Nido Qubein, an expert on sales, says, "What really counts is not what you know or believe, but what your prospects think and feel."

You have to put yourself in your client’s shoes.

The proof of growing a company together with a hard-working and value-driven team is evident in our clients' testimonials.

The journey we shared in solving money and life problems, our multiple-figure businesses target, career management programs, hours of webinars we've been together, and gaining social media presence were all part of the process also became a life-changing stage in my life.

For them to include me in their personal lives, taking my advice, giving me the authority to maneuver their life by providing a framework and offering a solution, and treating me as part of their family talks more than the compensation I earn.

And yes, it is true that first impression really lasts. I have learned through experience that when you understand your client's value from the start, you are already in the position of winning.

What does it mean to be an inspiring leader? An inspiring leader is someone that people follow, if you're a leader and nobody's following you, you're not really a leader or you lack leadership skills. Think of the world's most inspiring leaders, who are inspiring leaders throughout history?

How can you become an inspiring leader? How can you have more impact on the employees in your life? More Influence on people all around the world and more income that you can enjoy the finer things in life.

3 Tips on How You Can Become An Inspiring Leader

1. Very Clear on Your Mission, Your Vision and Your Purpose.

What is the mission that you are here to embody on the earth?

  • We're in business
  • You're a leader
  • You want to make money

That's not going to inspire many people. John F. Kennedy didn't say we're going to the moon because it's going to make me a lot of money. Martin Luther King didn't say I have a dream and that's to make a lot of money.

This represents an established attribute of the two, this example is required for us to create better understanding out of it.

That's the point, it's not that we don't want to make money, but we have to have something bigger like the integrity and mission at successclinic.com by Noah is to eliminate not enoughness from the world.

For some that's like, who cares about the passion, who cares if you feel inspired or you have the power to lead. For others, that's really inspiring because it can make the argument that most human problems come from the belief of not enough.

You have the qualities of a successful model, you provide true motivation in every person and you have the ability to lead people in positive commitment which became an inspiration with some people.

  • Not enough time
  • Not enough money
  • Not enough love
  • Not enough abundance
  • Not enough resources
  • Not enough water
  • Not enough land

We can make the argument that most human conflict comes from this belief and not enough. That's the mission, to eliminate not enough.

If you buy into that mission great, if you don't, great, but the point is people on the team are on board on that mission so you as the leader you gotta be very clear on your mission.

Focus on the job and the role as you build the strengths of your mission and find the meaning of every individual's capabilities.

2. You Tell Stories

You gotta tell inspiring stories that are connected to your mission. Position yourself as a future realism picture that has highly challenges and shortcomings in life.

Ideas like tell a story of growing up poor in a rich neighborhood and how that taught me the difference between the haves and the have not, the houses, everyone else, the community to have knots in my family.

Inspirational Leader - You Tell Stories

From a very young age I hated not enough,  that's what I grew up in. I grew up in a family of not enough and yet down the street I saw that there was great wealth and abundance, I said this sucks what can I do about it?

How will I invest in living in success if I can't think of attributes of consistently supportive people. Isn't that what entrepreneurship really having a vision is always all about seeing a problem.

A human problem and working to solve it that's what Dr. Martin Luther King did in I have a dream, that's what his I have a dream speech is all about, that's what John F.

Kennedy did to bring a man to the moon and bring it back safely to the earth by the end of that decade. Abraham Lincoln abolish slavery and on you can literally say the leader's name and understand in a moment what their vision was and also the stories that they told about it.

Abraham Lincoln, a nation divided or a house divided against itself cannot stand and all of the great quotes from JFK and Martin Luther King and all the great leaders.

Throughout history Winston Churchill and George Washington and on, tell stories related to the mission and to your vision. Aspire on modeling relevant spikes to generate and promote the movements you want to establish.

3. You've Got To Get In The Trenches With Your People.

You've got to roll up your sleeves and be willing to do the work alongside them.

That's what makes leaders like Elon Musk inspiring to many people because he gets down into it, he rolls up his sleeves, he wants  to be an astronaut, he wants to go to mars and he's helping the human race get to that next evolution of humanity.

You've got to double the moments you have with your employees, don't accept single praise, let your people be on your success. Your people, employees, and coworkers, they are with you during your ambitious stage.

When you pursue your standards, hope for your company, when your curiosity leads to practicing and establishing that common grounds and benefits with your people.

The point is, not everyone's gonna agree with them but are you willing to do the work as the leader? George Washington was always on the front lines with his troops he had at least three to five horses shot out from under him and his generals.

His lieutenants would beg him stop getting on your horse, we need you George, you're gonna get shot and he never did. He had three horses shot out from under him, fortunately for America.

He didn't get shot but what I mean is he was in the front, he wasn't cowering in the back. you've got to be the leader willing to do the work, that's not to say you should do everything.

There's a very fine line between being willing to do the work and also delegating.

Inspirational Leader - You've Got To Get In The Trenches With Your People

That's one of the things that we help our Inner Circle clients with is this whole process of delegation because there comes a point in your business where you can't do everything when you're starting out in your business.

You have more time than money and then all of a sudden you're making money but now i don't have any time.

It's not that you're gonna do everything and that's why you have to have the systems and processes in place so that you can delegate effectively and that's one of the things that we help our 30k Income Clients with Inner Circle Clients with Noah as well.

Resources are available for you, you too can have more time, more  energy, better relationships, and more money, and if you want my team to do all this for you get put all this in place and apply to be one of our inner circle done for you.

Motivating Employees Through Goal Setting

In the real world, competition is at a high level, a lot of people are leading, direction  can be crucial and developing experience to gain opportunities to some companies are critical for development and responsibility of an individual.

However, behaviors, values and traits of a person is a core key to grow in communication, be motivational, may gain engagement, may develop positive performance in an organization.

Every employee has goals to motivate the truth in the quality of actions and be able to trust the process of growth to support personal action inside the organization. The truth is, the culture inside the organization and the leader shows what followers they have.

If organizations have the talent to encourage customers and accomplish effective excellence, then an organization has the spirit and principles of a great organization.

Leaders must be challenging the employees but offer them gratitude and respect, recognizing the contribution and accomplishment in an honest tone.

Let yourself as a leader be engaged in watching with sense and safety habits to compromise specific attitudes and environment towards your employees and the workplace.

Remain passionate and give rewards in positivity to foster the drive to learn that creates excellent ways to increase strong and unique managers. Listening is a great way to achieve a set of change, it helps the mind to demonstrate with care and behave in a competitive way.

People are learning to move with complete honesty, chance  and breakthroughs, let's make that mindset filled with attributes of a positive leader.

leader is someone who inspires people to be their best and to do more than whatever they thought they could.

I'm going to show three differences between a boss and a leader for you to see which behaviors best describe you. And maybe, for you to see if you can move a little more, developing from a boss to a leader.

So, let's talk about boss versus leader. What's the big deal and what's the difference?

Well, there's a lot of us who are entrepreneurs. We're entrepreneurs, people who are growing their business or just getting started so whether you're just starting out in your business or whether you've been doing this for a while or maybe you've been doing this for five or even 10 years or more, there's going to be a point in your business where you're going to have people that work with you and maybe some that work for you.

You have to expect that managing and leading people will be added to your responsibilities now.

And, there are differences in how a boss and a leader approach their jobs. A boss will take pleasure in the power they own while a leader will ensure an encouraging environment.

Boss vs. Leader: A battle on time management, money, and manpower

As you grow and you're getting started in your business, generally speaking, you always have more time than money.

Time and money are always the two resources that are in an eternal struggle. When you're starting out your business, usually 99 percent of the time, you have more time than money because you don't really have any money coming in as you're just starting out in business, unless you have a rich uncle somewhere you have an inheritance.

Most of us don't start out with a lot of money which is really difficult because you've got to do it all by yourself. It takes commitment so the business stays in the game.

For example, I started my company successclinic.com in my college dorm room in 1997, in the middle of a recession with 800 dollars to my name and a book on HTML. That's all I had to start with.

Since those very humble beginnings, over the last two decades, helped our coaching clients at over 2.7 billion dollars using my methods. We've helped people just like you to add six figures, multiple six figures, seven figures and yes, even eight figures using my methods.

How have I done that well?

I teach my inner game and outer game methods and I also teach what I now call my authority cycle formula.

The authority cycle formula is where I show you how to go from “I don't even know what I'm doing ” or “ I have an idea but I don't know how to get started to ”or “ I don't know what my offers are”, and “I don't know how to build a funnel and I need to get traffic”.

I'll walk you through all those stages in my courses like 30k income secrets and my elite inner circle. That's what we call the authority cycle formula.

What does that mean for you?

As you're growing your business, you're going to go through those stages where you're going to have to bring somebody in. Because as you start to bring in more money, probably your time is going down bringing clients. The more clients you get, you're going to reach a point where “Oh my gosh! You know what? This is great! I'm busy but I don't have any time”.

You’re going to have to have people work for you, basically, whether they're a virtual assistant or maybe you're going to have someone help you with your traffic or help you build your funnels or help you with your social media whatever it might be, you're going to have people that work for you.

How do you become a leader instead of just a boss?

Leader’s Trait #1: A leader knows how to listen

First of all, one of the things that I've noticed over the last two decades of working with countless entrepreneurs, business owners, CEOs, and executives is that bosses tell more than they listen, whereas leaders listen more than they tell.

Now you've heard the saying before, “We have two ears and one mouth so we should listen twice as much as we speak.” But, that never happens. Nobody ever does that but that's one of the things that we should look for when we are looking to bring in people.

One of the certain things you’ll do now, of course, you have to tell people what you want. You have to be clear about what it is that you want but you're also going to have to listen.

Boss vs Leader - A leader knows how to listen

As a leader, you have to listen. You have to listen to what the real issues are. Your role is to create a workplace where effective communication is present.

I remember when I was just starting out in business, I really didn't know what I was doing. I had no experience in marketing or business or accounting or sales or online business. There was no such thing as funnels, no such thing as social media. There was none of that so I didn't know what I didn't even know. And, that's one of the big, big problems in business.

A lot of times you don't know what you don't know, that's why it's so important to listen.

It seems that maybe that's a time when you need to bring in a coach. You need to bring in a coach, a mentor, or someone who's been there, someone who’s been on the top of the mountain. Someone who can help you get there even faster, much faster, and easier to your goal.

An expert business coach has the ability to see and picture out the workflow from a critical perspective. One who has been in the industry dealing with management and system problems and providing solutions for years. It never hurts one or even a company to receive coaching strategies. After all, it has been a key why businesses achieve their goals skyrocketed year after year.

However, you also need to listen to the people that work for you. You need to understand why you should encourage them to work with you, instead.

For instance, let's say you have someone who is doing your customer service. You need to listen and know what you're hearing from your clients, your customers, their concerns, problems, what they are  frustrated about, and what they are  not getting.

Hence, the more you listen, the more you’ll be able to help people. The more referrals you're going to get, the more money you're going to make.

Leader’s Trait #2: A leader teaches and inspires

On number two, bosses command whereas leaders inspire. A leader teaches you why and how to do it.

When you're a boss, you're telling people what to do, do this and do that. You know the Gopher method, go for this and go for that. That's all great and wonderful if you are a genius and if you know everything.

Yet, most of us aren't like that. Most people don't know everything. I don't think anybody knows everything, right?

Therefore, a leader should:

  • Tell people what he wants.
  • Ask people what they want.
  • Clarify each demand and needs.
  • Create a common ground to meet each other’s terms.
  • Listen to feedback and be open to changes.

Clarity is very, very important yet it is also important that you develop constructive approaches. The influence you have as a leader reflects how your followers feel.

How can your employees stay motivated? So, how do you inspire people?

Find out what's important to them so you can know what their priorities are, characteristics they have, and assess where they focus on.

Leadership, just like in relationships, values the process of earning trust.

Boss vs Leader - A leader teaches and inspires

Both are considered workers, in control of each performance. Expectations are met when both know their positions and play their role effectively. It benefits both sides when their purpose is working and learning together.

When the vision isn't to instill fear but build confidence, any individual in a team can produce quality results and have a great impact on the company's growth.

You have to listen and ask better questions like Afformations®. You can go to afformations.com  and learn how to ask much better questions, empowering questions. These are not typical feedback, it nurtures positive feelings within the employee. It is driven by creating a strong connection, focuses, and supports what the individual can offer.

In fact, you should influence everyone on your team, your staff to use Afformations®. Why? Because that will help them to get really better and faster results with far less effort. Practice to hear and explain.

Leader’s Trait #3: A leader gives credit and takes accountability

There's an old saying that goes around, “It's amazing what you can do when you don't care who gets the credit”. Bosses take credit and give responsibility whereas leaders take responsibility and give credit.

Leaders aren't after the praise and claps, they want you to do better than they did and be successful with your career.

I'm sure you've probably been in a situation where you did something and you did a lot of work. Then, maybe somebody took credit for your work. I know I have and that really hurts.

It takes away your joy, your passion and your inspiration. Frankly saying, it can really make you mad. Imagine if you do all this work and then somebody else takes the credit for it.

We see humans are always starving for recognition and appreciation. We just want somebody to listen to us because most people don't.

Even people closest to us, our friends and family, usually don't listen very well. Most people don't and that's not to say they're bad people. They just haven't been taught how to listen and maybe they don't really understand how important it is.

As a boss, they are the ones that take credit. “Hey, I did this. This is all my work because I’m a visionary. I have supervision and that's why I'm the supervisor!" But, when something goes wrong, they sort of throw the blame around other people.

There’s an old saying: “Success has many fathers but failure is an orphan.” When there’s success, everybody wants to take the credit.

I can't tell you how many people I've heard from over the years who said, “Well, I was the number one sales trainer.” Like how many number one sales trainers do they have? I wonder if you know it's all the same person. So, they really have 50 sales trainers who claim to be number one. It’s interesting how most people pretend to be the top yet never really gave the same energy to fight and win the spot.

If something does go wrong, who's going to want to step up and say, “Yeah, you know what that was on me.” That's what a leader does!

Leaders operate legacy in their minds, not competition. Leaders set an example in self-accountability. You know and listen even if it wasn't technically your fault.

Let's say someone on your team does something wrong. They really messed it up. Sometimes, it is really their fault. It’s their responsibility and you really didn't do anything wrong. Nevertheless, as a leader, you have to talk to that person and you may want to do it in a private setting.

When something goes wrong, what you don't want to do is embarrass the person in public. That's not really a good idea because:

  • People are very resentful because they’ve been treated unfairly.
  •  They are usually very angry because they were humiliated.
  •  And they will likely look for a way to get back at you.

Thus, you may want to take them in private and talk about what happened, what went wrong. Notice what you're doing, asking, and listening.

Boss vs Leader - A leader gives credit and takes accountability

For the most part, we want to correct this. Basically, 99 times out of 100, it's a systems problem, not a people problem.

People usually do very good work when you give them the parameters to do the work. It’s still on you as the leader. You can say, “You know what, that's a really good point and that I really wasn't clear enough and we needed to clarify that so let's systematize this process. Let's put this in place and so that way we won't have that mistake in the future.”

Every single time, I mean 99 times out of 100, it's really a systems problem. It's a system that wasn't clear which really does fall on you as the leader. You may want to review the system and impart where knowledge and understanding are in need.

As the leader you really don’t want to take credit and give responsibility. You should want to take responsibility and share the credit.

“Hey, you know what we wouldn't have gotten there without the team, without all of us. Teamwork makes the dream work.

You now have valuable ideas to follow and share with your employees or future subordinates.

Maybe you want to lead a business that you aren't sure of or want to leave the boss role, for those who want to learn more about how to start and scale your online business and really hit that 10 or 20 or even 30k per month. Remember this is from the safety and comfort of your own home. Everything’s virtual nowadays, so might as well experience this kind of job and level up the way you lead.

High standards and competency are required and expected when you take leadership roles. It usually focuses on skills, training processes, and making decisions. Often neglected are the ability to balance emotions, approach mistakes in the development of sustainable solutions, and their mission to motivate each employee to grow with the tasks they delegate.

Everyone wants to be the leader because they like being dominant, turns out they just feel like being a boss. They want people to follow the policy and term they created as a servant does. They are fond of foul language, criticism, and ineffective approach. Even so-called professionals turn out to be drowned by the dark side of company politics, unable to change their bad behavior.

Competent leaders do a fantastic job of being people experts. They are emotional because they are sensitive to people's feelings which makes it easier for them to work with teams to provide and improve the needs of the organization.

Effective leadership makes a great difference. It creates opportunities for growth and development, not only with the company's position in the economy but also with people's success.

“The definition of a true leader lies with the trust you give, felt in the passion you offer, and witnessed in the purpose you show.”

So, what cards are you going to play now? Is it just authority you truly want or are you up to making a big difference to influence people with your vision?

Why don't you believe in yourself? The reason is probably because most of the people have a lot of head trash. What Do You Have to do to Take Action When You Don't Believe in Yourself?  People should start a plan in order to step forward to their goals and live easy, focus their mind to the action and create change in our daily life. People should get rid of that head trash that's saying I can't do it because.

What is Head Trash?

  • Head trash is the thing that's holding you back
  • Head trash is the voice in your head that says I can't do it

Examples of Head Trash

  • I want to make more money, but I don't think I can do it right.
  • I want to double my income like your clients do, but I'm not even gonna try.
  • I want to get to 30k per month in my online business like your clients do, but I can’t.

1. Identify Your Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow

- What is it that you want?

Do you want to publish a book?

Do you want to have an online course?

Do you want to get to 30k per month in your online business?

Do you want to do virtual events?

Do you want to do one-on-one coaching or group coaching?

Do you want to have an advance in your career?

Do you want to have a happy relationship?

Do you want to lose weight?

People need to figure out what it is. People should set a destination, set a target; not your goal but your target.

2. Reaching Your Target

- What is holding you back from reaching that target?

How to Take Action - Reaching Your Target

Three reasons you're not reaching your target:

  1. You have a Knowledge Gap that means you don't know what to do.
  2. You have a Skills Gap that means you might not have the tools or you might not know how to do it.
  3. You have a Belief Gap.

A Belief Gap is the thing about your head dressed, it says I can't do it because.

  • I want all those things you just talked about but I don't have the time.
  • It's going to be too hard.
  • I'm not a technology person, I don't want to get stuck in all the tech stuff.
  • I don't have a lot of time.
  • I don't have a lot of money.
  • I've tried everything else
  • I've been lied to before, the gurus lied to me and ripped me off so I'll just stay right where I am.

Are you thinking, What Are You Going to Make Yourself?

  • If you say you don't have the time, you won't have the time.
  • If you say you don't have the money, you won't have the money.
  • If you say you can't do it you're going to make yourself right.

Setback your imperfect path and fears from your decisions. It only takes a couple of minutes to make your mindset right, it may not be perfect but it can change simple decisions in life to start in a positive energy.

People Should Identify What is in the Way

- What's the gap? Do you have a knowledge gap? Do you have a skills gap? or do you have a belief gap?

- Learn to understand your action, is there something wrong?

- Are you making progress? Assess yourself and change your habit into something powerful to increase your enthusiasm.

It's a combination of all three of those, that's what I've seen both of myself as I've tried to progress throughout my lifetime and throughout my career. Every single time that I wanted to reach the next milestone, whether it was getting to my first ten thousand dollar month, my first hundred thousand dollar month, my first million dollar year. Every single time there was one or more of those gaps. Life offers success, however life offers failure too. It's only a matter of waiting for the right time, learning to stay focused, and starting to apply positive actions in our day to day life.

3. Determine How You're Going to Overcome the Gap

In the case of a knowledge gap, someone probably knows what you want to do. In other words, somebody's probably done what you want. Practice an effective mind to manifest the possibility to increase the chance of your dreams.

How to Take Action - Determine How You're Going to Overcome the Gap

Let's say you want to publish a book, for example:

I publish 15 books - As someone who's published 15 books, I know everything there is to know such as the resources and conditions about publishing the input and output. I've helped a lot of my clients get their books published, their very first book even when they thought they couldn't do it.

A quick example, here's a case study for you. One client came to me, she hired me and she said I want to publish my book. I said great, do you have it already? I mean is it something you've been thinking about? Have you already written it? What's the status of it? then she said

I've already written it. Do you know where it is? I asked, she said it's in a shoe box in my closet. I said really? You have your book manager in a shoe box in your closet? She said yes.

I said, the first thing you should do is to take it out of the shoe box. You might want to take it out of the closet because it's kind of hard to get it published in the shoe box or in the closet. Second,  I'm just curious how long it has been there and she said that it's been there 15 years.

Do you think there's a little head trash there? Isn't that interesting because she actually already did it, had already done the hard part and the heavy lifting. She'd written the book but because she didn't know what to do, she didn't have a knowledge gap, she didn't have a skills gap. What she did have is a belief gap, she literally said nobody's gonna like it. What if they make fun of me? What if people criticize me? What if they don't like it? What if they don't like me? The fear of feeling that she won't achieve success rules her systems.

She slammed her foot on the break for 15 years. Long story short, I coached her through my power habits process and not only did she publish the book, she has published six more books. What are the odds of you creating difference and motivation for the people if you started working your writings back then?

Imagine what this means for you, the obvious meaning is that you'll gain your worth and that feeling would force you to effectively progress in life.  The point is, you are capable of creating your life perfectly. People are born with imperfect lives to live, but we have a chance to escape the pain of living unknown. Follow the goals and dreams you set to avoid the feeling of inaction, time flies fast and so are we.

What you can do when you overcome your knowledge gap, your skills gap, and your belief gap?

That's really all you need to do, now you can hire a coach like me. I would say that the number one thing for most people is they don't have someone in their corner believing in them. That is the number one reason that's holding most people back from the success they're capable of. Taking action even when you don't believe in yourself. It only takes minutes to spend  a day with people who pay attention and listen to your words when life gets pretty bad.

How to Take Action - What you can do when you overcome your knowledge gap, your skills gap, and your belief gap?

Let me just say one other thing, sometimes you have to take action when you don't believe in yourself. There's that old phrase that I hate which is called fake it till you make it. That's not right because instead of faking it, just take action and then you’ll realize that you will gain opportunity  after you've done it.

There were many times that I took action even when I didn't believe myself, I didn't believe that I could ever be a Hay house author. I dreamed of it but I never thought it would really happen, but now I'm a Hay house author, HarperCollins author, and a Nightingale-Conant author. People spent hundreds of dollars to make life feel better, because they think that a job is always available for them. The point is, there is nothing wrong in creating your own dreams without the thinking of being stuck. As someone who's done all of this, I can say for sure that 99% out of 100 that I didn't believe I could do it but I took action anyway. If I can do it, you can do it too. Remember that deprivation won't make your life's path easier, it will only create bad existential problems in your life.

Do you know what a vision board is? Have you ever tried to create your own, maybe for a school project or for a material to be used in the office? And maybe it didn't work out the way you wanted?

In today's Ask Noah St. John Show, I'm going to teach you why everyone's wrong about vision boards and how to do a better vision board for you, for your family, for your business, your career, and your legacy.

What are vision boards? And how do I create one?

What is a vision board? As we all know, a vision board is an art piece of motivation that the gurus have been telling us to do for years and years. A vision board is something where you think about your journey, what you want to focus on, your deepest desires, and the achievements you want to fulfill in the future. It is designed to represent your visions.

There's a broad concept when it comes to the designs of a vision board. The very common tools are paper and pen where you just write down quotes from your favorite books, stories you have read, or films. People often use words of affirmations that aim to grow positivity within. Perhaps, you can use my words of Afformation® which reinforce your confidence by simply answering empowering questions about the things you are capable of achieving.

Others use magazines to pick and cut fun pictures, gluing those to paper, and sticking them on the wall. Some use photos they have taken to remind them of memories. Most students make vision boards using different materials and resources which resembles their school projects having various themes, colors, and textures. Anything that appeals visually great can attract positive vibes and inspire a person to keep moving and hustling for a dream.

Why is your vision board not enough?

Well, vision boards are supposed to help you get all the things that you want. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it?

I remember years and years ago when I started to educate myself through spiritual studies. I read all these books and talked a lot about vision boards. I said, “I'll try it”. I got all these magazines out, I cut all these images of cars and houses of money and I put them on my wall. I think about it and I'd stare at my vision board, look at it and think about it. My eyes are glued to these pictures hoping I will be able to experience success.

Empowering Vision: Why is your vision board not enough?

Do you know what I got while I was looking at the picture? Do you know if the pictures of cars, houses, and money become true now? Why didn't the vision board work for me? A reason the vision board didn't work for me and it didn't work for millions of people out there who have tried vision boards is that a vision board doesn't fix the actual problem. It doesn't guarantee automatic success.

Basically, like going to the dentist you say, “Hey Doc, do you know I got a toothache? My tooth really hurts.” He goes, “Hey, you've got a cavity there.” Okay, next. You’re like, “Wait a minute. Don't you want to fix it well?” He says, “Well you didn't ask me to fix you just asked me to tell you what was wrong”. See, that's the real problem. Here’s the point, when you look at a vision board, cutting out pictures and all that texts, and you're visualizing the pictures on a wall, all you're basically doing to your brain is saying; “See. Look at all that stuff.” Your brain's going well.

What are we going to do now to see your brain? It’s a question seeking an answer, “finding machine” - that's what it is. Your brain is always in the process of asking and seeking answers to questions. This is one of the reasons why I invented the Afformation® System. If you look at my books like Power Habits® and Get Rid of Your Head Trash About Money, in the book of Afformations® from Hay House, and my Afformation® system at afformations.com, this is exactly what I’ve been teaching my coaching clients for more than two decades since 1997. It's also one of the reasons that my clients and I have added over 2.7 billion dollars using my legendary methods.

While you're doing a vision board wrong, it's not your fault. It's just that they told you to put all these ideas and pictures together but then, they didn't tell you what to do. You became "blind" and too much focus on dreaming, you definitely lack a bit of moving.

Power Tip #1: Asking yourself what do you want

What works way better and more efficiently than a vision board is?

Asking yourself the things you want now, goals, or dreams you want to achieve.

Empowering Vision: Asking yourself what do you want

You can write specific objectives for a short-term project you want to finish or an outline of goals to check development in achieving a long-term one. You can still draw them out and creating a vision board would be nice, too.

The things you value and believe in can definitely help to identify what's more essential to include in your list. You don't need to rush and frustrate yourself to envision mind-blowing ideas, or to visualize a clearer future right away. If you still don't know where to settle because maybe you're focusing on the present, asking yourself now can be truly helpful. This will serve as a key guide in your journey of understanding your feelings, learning your experiences, and knowing your purpose in life.

Power Tip #2: Understand what's between you and what you want

I call that going from your CPR to your NDR - your Current Perceived Reality to your New Desired Reality. Yes, it is important to know where you want but you gotta understand and relate what's between you and what you want. I call it "the gap.”

There are three kinds of gaps that you can have. You can have a knowledge gap, a skills gap, and a belief gap. A knowledge gap is “I don't know what to do”, the skills gap is “I don't know how to get there”, and the belief gap is “I don't really think I can do it now”.

From 99 of the coaching clients that I've coached over the last two decades, it's the belief gap that's keeping you stuck meaning most people just think or believe they probably can't do it anyway. What's the point now that maybe it is a conscious thought, may not be it, or maybe a subconscious thought but it doesn't matter because of the law of sowing and reaping. As you sow, so shall you reap.

Empowering Vision: Understand what's between you and what you want

If you think you can't do it then guess what, you're going to prove yourself right. Your emotions define the core of this life mission, how inspired and motivated you are to take risks and grab opportunities, and how you acknowledge the negative feeling and turn it into a challenge. You should want it more than you're afraid of it. Believe me when I say it helps you feel powerful when someone explains your gap, whether it is closer to your dreams or there's still a long track to go through.

Power Tip#3: Take the steps

Take the actions necessary to overcome your gap. Being committed to a goal is allocating time regularly, setting aside insecurities, and having the courage to push through no matter how difficult it is to get there. A visual board should not end with the image or text on the wall, it should empower you with a daily step to take and gain lessons through trials so it can add up to your growth.

That's why I have so many different programs that help you to overcome whatever gap it is whether it's a knowledge gap if you don't know what to do, a skills gap meaning you don't have the tools to do it, or much more important and the foundation of all is a belief gap. I have programs and tools that will help you believe and actually know that you can do it but believe it or not, belief isn't as important as you think even though it's crucial. It's much more important to take action than just try to sit there and change your beliefs. The Law of Attraction is not a bad thing to believe in but you need to work on your goals to make it happen.

Remember that I've said this many times and you've heard me say this if you've been on these programs, “One positive action beats a thousand positive thoughts.” I’d rather see you taking action without even believing it rather than sitting there trying to believe, and waiting until you're ready to take action because guess what you're never gonna be ready. It really takes time to be confident and speak positively about the abilities you possess. This only speaks a lot about the trust you put in the process no matter how blurry your view is on reaching your goal.

Empowering Vision: Take the steps

I can give you a thousand examples from my own life of how I took action even when I didn't think I could do it. A great example is my Hay House book. I started reading Hay House books in the 1990s when I started my spiritual studies more than 30 years ago and I dreamed of being a Hay House author. I kept saying, “It'll never happen to me. I'm probably not good enough. Who's going to listen to me? Why would they ever publish my book?” Well lo and behold, they published my book and now there's so much demand for it that they're sold out. When you go to Amazon and look at my Book of Afformations®, they're actually sold out which is pretty funny.

I didn't have any of these accessible tools that you all have available to you right now. I had HTML all by myself and I tell you, it was awful. It took me 10 years before I broke six figures but if I had the tools, had the training and workshop, and had the support that I have for all of you right now, I would have gotten there a heck faster. You can actually get there faster than I did and much easier than I did. You won't have to spend half a million dollars on all the gurus only to find out that they can't teach their way out of a paperback.

Turning your vision into a mission

Again, a vision board is only a representation of your goals in life which anyone can agree that it serves as an inspiration. All it takes to make it work is to follow the tips I've given you. Ask yourself empowering questions to discover yourself more. You'll be able to understand and explain the things you live up to. When you recognize and accept where you are and where you're going, you'll be able to attach and connect lessons from the past, apply strategies today, and create an objective plan for tomorrow.

Make minutes in your life count by spending time day in and out for your dreams. You don't stay where you are residing, you grow and bloom. But always be reminded not to compare your vision boards to someone else's because we all have our own version of progress and success.

If you ever need a helping hand, there is plenty of support you've got out there. Parents will definitely ensure you'll land a good life. If you've been thinking about seeking professional help, don't hesitate to ask for mentorship from people who've been there longer, just like me. We will help you become strong with decisions, enhance the ability to lead, and wake up every morning, like a bright yellow sunflower, a boost of good mood.

Clarifying the visualization you have in mind is where I am good at. We'll help you realize and process what you are thinking to essentially design a concrete plan so you can achieve your goal and improve your career.

Go ahead and follow your chosen path to make your visions happen starting today.

Today's crazy times: are you one of the leaders who have followers? Are you wanting to be an influencer? Do you want to have more impact, more influence, and more income even especially right now in today's great times? Well, in today's Ask Noah St. John's training, I'm going to give you my top three leadership qualities that I have seen and observed which helped my coaching clients over the last two decades to add more than 2.7 billion dollars using my strategic methods.

Are you an effective leader right now or do you want to lead and earn respect from your subordinates? Do you have a company or team that you are planning to lead? Do you want to have a team of people that you can help develop a culture of understanding and growth? If you don't have a team then you're not much of a leader, are you? If you are a leader and no one's following then you're not really much of a leader.

So, there are three hugely important qualities, I will share the most important qualities that you need as a leader, especially the skills and traits one has to possess now that we are facing challenging times here on planet Earth.

Leadership Qualities #1: A Leader Should Have a Strong Vision

Now, the first most important leadership quality that you need is vision. A strong vision means you got to see where you're going. It wouldn't be very smart if you got on a plane and you sat down. You got all set up to go and the pilot said, “Well, I’m not sure exactly where we're going but I’m sure it'll be fun.”  You wouldn't feel too confident, would you? You probably runoff that plane pretty quickly so that is not a great idea, to not know where you're going. Now, that's obviously a big problem for a lot of people whether you are a leader or not. But certainly, if you're going to be a leader even if you're just leading a person or a team of one or two or five. A small team with positive engagement is all you really need.

Leadership Quality - A Leader Should Have a Strong Vision

I have a very lean team right now. I have fewer than seven people on my team and we have a multi-million dollar business. I’m working from home and I've been in this situation for the last two decades. The point is you don't need to have a large group or lots of staff if you don't want to, you just need to have that vision. This only means you've got to know where you're going and why you want to get there. Next, you got to communicate that to your team. Let them feel the emotions, the passion, and commitment you have for the job. It is also your responsibility to communicate in clear simple plain language so that everybody's on board. Helping them listen, learn, and understand these ideas easily will help them trust you more with your future decisions. Communication includes creating a culture of entertaining honest feedback from the team. It is essential for leaders to create a vision that will directly answer "where we're going and why we want to go there". Vision is number one.

Leadership Qualities #2: A Leader Should Have Focused Mindset

Number two is focus. Focus is very important. Imagine you're on that same plane and you know the plane's flying and you're sitting there, maybe you're reading a magazine. All of a sudden, the pilot comes out of the cockpit and he's going like this on his phone. He’s like “Oh wow, that's a funny tweet, that’s a funny Instagram, that's a funny thing…” You’re like, “Shouldn’t you be flying the plane.” “I’ll get around to that later but man this is funny. Did you see this video?” Did you get me?  Not a great idea! You got to be focused. People often blame others for their mistakes yet it is them who easily get distracted. Setting a mindset to focus on your ability and your goal helps you to take your actions mindfully which is already a level ahead of others.

People ask me all the time, “Noah,  how have you written 15 books like Get Rid of Your Head Trash About Money?” By the way, you can get this book free at sendmeabooknoah.com. I'll send you this book!

Leadership Quality - A Leader Should Have Focused Mindset

“How have you written books like Get Rid of Your Head Trash About Money, the Book of Afformations® published by Hay House, Power Habits® published by Nightingale Conant and a dozen more. How have you done that?" They ask me all the time and I say, “Well, by writing them.” I wrote them by writing, sitting there and focusing, putting the blinders on saying, “This is what I’m doing right now, not multitasking."

Multitasking is the least best thing you can do, the worst thing you can do, the thing that you need to avoid, if you want to get things done. Just ask my good friend, Dave Crenshaw, who wrote a great book called the Myth of Multitasking. It doesn’t exist, so don't do it, don't even try now.  It doesn't mean you have to work 24/7. You don't have to be like my friend, Gary Vaynerchuk, who is all about the hustle and the grind. I'd rather just be relaxed and just work in small little bite-sized chunks, get it done and then you take a break from all the tasks.

Leadership Qualities #3: A Leader Should Have a Courageous Heart

Vision, focus, and the third quality that you must have as a leader in today's times is courage. You've got to have courage! Courage comes from the Latin word “heart”, “core”. When you act from courage it means you're acting from your heart. I’ll give you a great example. Many years ago, when I was $40,000 in credit card debt working in my parents’ basement. I was at a very low point in my life and I was faced with a decision to hire a business coach or keep doing what I was doing. I remember sitting there going, “This business coach he’s really expensive and I’m skeptical and I don't think I’m going to get what I want.” I don't know if he's really going to help me but I looked at his record. I looked at all of the testimonials and all the case studies and I said wow he's really helped a lot of people who are in my position and I didn't really know much about internet marketing back then. I tried a lot of different things but it didn't work out. I talked to him and he's really a great guy, very smart, very caring and a big heart. I said, “I’m going to take this leap but my head said it's never going to work but I acted with my heart’s courage." In my first month of working with that mentor, I made twelve thousand dollars for my very first teleseminar and I went on to now have made millions of dollars selling my products and programs and courses and coaching online.

Leadership Quality - A Leader Should Have a Courageous Heart

What does this mean for you? Every day we're faced with choices, every day we’re faced with decisions. The easy thing to do is just stay where you are, that's what most people do. “Well, I’ll just stay where I am”. That’s easy. If you keep doing the same thing you're doing, you'll keep getting the same result. The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing expecting different results. Leaders also fear what lies ahead but they try to face each with confidence. Intelligence, the right attitude, and perseverance will help you become successful.

Do you have them? I mean I know we all think we have them but do you really act from courage? Don't act from your head, you gotta act from your heart. I hired the mentor by the way, and the results speak for themselves. Now, the people who've hired me have also gone on to make over 2.7 billion dollars as a result of following my methods. Good characteristics will get you there.

A true leader can't be built in a day, it takes time for a human to improve his attitude, practice his skills, and follow a leader's core. One needs a strong vision, a purpose to inspire and perspire, and displays patience in teaching his followers. One who is focused to achieve goals; never stops learning and knows that success is earned through hard work. One who is courageous; accountable with his actions and has a sense of empathy for his followers. He exudes honesty, integrity, and has a great sense of positivity. It's not easy to become a leader, but you can become one by starting with these simple tips.

Even before the current COVID-19 pandemic, there have always been two kinds of leaders: those who know how to lead in a crisis, and those who don't.

Many business and executive leaders don't have a crisis leadership plan in place.

However, in these times of extreme uncertainty, it's more important than ever for leaders to have a plan to manage and lead in a crisis.

Leadership in a crisis is really a test of your ability to remain calm and to communicate during these uncertain times.

The 3 C's of Crisis Leadership - How to Lead in a Crisis

  1. Communication
  2. Customer and Community Support
  3. Remain Calm

Communication

There are two types of communication that leaders have to master, in order to successfully lead through a crisis.

The first form of communication is your communication with the world inside of you

The second form of communication is your communication with the world outside of you.

Because this is true, clear communication comes down to two things.

The first is the quality of your communication with the world inside of you.

The second is the quality of your communication with the world outside of you.

Many leaders have mastered one form of communication, but not the other.

Yet if you only master one form of communication - the inner or the outer form -- your ability to lead in a crisis will be severely hindered.

This is why we focus on both internal and external communication.

Because if you only do one without the other, your success will be limited.

Customer and Community Support

You've got to be able to support your customers and your community through these uncertain times.

Because people everywhere are scared.

Showing empathy means that you understand what other people are going through in these difficult times.

However, that does not mean that "the customer is always right."

Because in truth, sometimes the customer is NOT right - especially in times of stress and crisis.

You, as the leader, have to communicate that sometimes the customer isn't right -- but that you have their best interests at heart.

That's another reason it's so important to communicate effectively with yourself and with the people around you.

Remain Calm

Easier said than done, I know.

Yet it all goes back to the quality of communication with the world inside of you.

If your inner voice is panicking, then your outer communication will reflect that.

Doing mindfulness exercises like focused breathing, journaling, and using my AFFORMATIONS® Method can help you to remain calm during stressful times.

You'll see that there are numerous ways that you can improve the quality of your communication with the world inside of you -- which in turn will help you to improve your communication with the world outside of you -- which will help to lead through times of crisis.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last 10 years, you’ve noticed enormous changes in what we want out of our careers, as well as what we’re looking for in our leaders.

As with most things, there’s good news and bad news associated with these changes.

For example, the rise in the remote workplace means more people can work whenever and wherever they want.

The bad news is that since very few people were trained in the so-called “soft skills” that are needed to succeed in the new creative and dynamic workplace, many people are feeling confused and overwhelmed with all these changes.

The truth is, I hate the term “soft skills” because it undervalues the importance of habits like effective communication, productivity, focus, teamwork, adaptability, creativity, goal-setting and interpersonal skills.

In fact, leaders and executives are affected by these changes more than anyone else. That’s because as a leader, you are expected to have work-life balance, communicate effectively, set goals, be productive, and do it all with a smile on your face.

That’s why so many leaders and executives are hiring an Executive Coach to help them master the new soft skills revolution.

With the support of an accomplished Executive Coach, leaders have the opportunity to set and achieve goals, improve focus, and communicate effectively, which will dramatically increase productivity, lower stress, and lead to a more positive workplace environment.

When Leaders Don’t Adapt to The Soft Skills Revolution

Studies show that nearly one out of three employees doesn’t trust their manager. Lack of trust leads to a disengaged workforce, which leads to problems with self-esteem, lack of initiative, and ultimately hurts the organization’s bottom line.

Another disturbing workplace trend is burnout, which was finally classified by the World Health Organization as an actual medical diagnosis.

The WHO defines burnout as “a syndrome conceptualized as resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed.”

Worse yet, burnout increases employee absences (stress and burnout drive nearly 60% of absences), resignations, and costs businesses between $150 to $350 BILLION annually.

When leaders and executives don’t adapt to the new soft skills revolution, productivity suffers, progress stagnates, and stress goes through the roof.

To truly thrive today, leaders and executives have to be willing to embrace the new soft stills revolution.

That’s another reason why an Executive Coach can help leaders to stop trying to “lead through intimidation” and start creating meaningful connections across teams, which will in turn create a more positive and productive work environment, reduce burnout and increase profits.

Why Leaders Need an Executive Coach to Help Them Master The Soft Skills Revolution

An accomplished Executive Coach can help leaders understand and master the specific needs of a soft-skill-centered workplace.

Executives need a trusted business partner who they know can help them to master the crucial soft skills such as communication, teamwork, focus, and productivity.

Leaders are looking for an Executive Coach who takes success and results as seriously as they do. That’s why it’s critical to find the right Executive Coach who can walk you through proven systems that have transformed the lives (and performance outcomes) of many leaders before you.

You want to feel safe and comfortable enough with your Executive Coach so you can let your guard down and discover a new perspective on creativity, teamwork and productivity.

With the growing demand for improved human connection, meaning, and responsibility for the wellbeing of others, the right Executive Coach can help leaders and executives to bring out the best in themselves and their team members, and ultimately, master the new soft skills revolution for higher profits, lower costs, and lower turnover.

What’s Next?

The most successful organizations understand that we’re in a new era of leadership. Yet even though many companies see this change, they don’t know how to change.

Taking advantage of the new soft skills revolution requires that a leader be humble, yet decisive. Proactive, yet discerning. Focused, yet inclusive. (Yes, having a sense of humor helps, too.)

That’s why having an established, supportive guide to walk you through the process is the fastest and surest path to success.
